You can use your email not only for email campaigns but also to create similar audiences or target them on different marketing platforms. Facebook and Google Adwords are two of them.
You can create a Facebook custom audience if you have a relatively large number of email lists, more is obviously better.
In fact, that’s a great option due to several reasons:
- Facebook interest-based targeting is reported to be not as good as we think
- Facebook targeting and remarketing efficiency have been negatively affected by Apple’s IOS update as marketers can not get enough data from IOS devices
To make a Custom Audience from a customer email list, you provide Facebook with information about your existing customers, and their ads system matches this information with Facebook profiles. The information on a customer list is known as an “identifier” (such as email, phone number, address) and we use it to help you find the audiences you want your ads to reach.
Your customer list can either be a CSV or TXT file that includes these identifiers. To get the best match rates, use as many identifiers as possible while following our formatting guidelines. You can hover over the identifiers to display the formatting rules and the correct column header. For example, the first name would appear as fn as a column header in your list.
Alternatively, Facebook has a file template you can download to help their system map to your identifiers more easily.
You can find below step-by-step instructions to create your own custom audience from your email list.
Go to: https://business.facebook.com/
Find Audiences sub menu.
At this point, it is important to format your CSV file as described by Facebook.
The audience is now populating and Facebook is finding people who fit your audience criteria. You can start running ads with this audience right away, but be aware that your audience size will increase as the audience is populated.
Hope that guide was helpful.
Thank you.
